Prof. Vladimir Shubin took part in the conference "Future of Humanities and Social Sciences in South African Universities" held in Johannesburg on March 28-30, 2012. During his stay in South Africa he delivered a lecture on "BRICS: the role of Russia and South Africa" in the Africa Institute of South Africa in Pretoria, was received by Deputy President of South Africa Khalema Motlanthe, met Minister of Higher Education and Training Dr Blade Nzimande, President's Spokesman Mac Maharaj, Special Advisor of Minister of International Relations and Cooperation Dr Eddy Malolka, reserchers from South African Institute of International Affairs (SAIIA). Africa Institute of South Africa (AISA), Institute of Global Dialogue (IGD), African Centre for the Constructive Resolution of Disputes (ACCORD), Public Administration Leadership and Managament Academy (PALAMA) and other academic institutions.
