September 17, 2024 Junior researcher Ivanchenko O.V. presented a report at the scientific seminar "Culture and Society"

On September 17, 2024, Oxana Ivanchenkon has presented a report “Formation of the Tanzanian nation in the conditions of ethnoracial stratification: field study results” in the frames of scientific seminar “Culture and Society”. The report was based on the field research conducted in Tanzania in November 2023 (Russian Science Foundation grant No. 23-18-01091), during the study 33 interviews were carried out in Dar es Salaam and Bagamoyo cities.

On April 11, 2023, in the framework of the seminar “Culture and Society” of the Center of History and Cultural Anthropology, Oksana Ivanchenko presented a report “Remembering the leaders of Tanganyika: Arab-Swahili slave trade and the contamination of slave trade and colonial discourses in modern Tanzania”. The report was based on the results of 5 years of field researches conducted in Tanzania by members of the center, Ivanchenko O.V., Banshchikova A.A.
