On May 19, the students of MA in "Art of Literature" Higher School of Economics in cooperation with the State Literary Museum (Museum of the Silver Age) organized the "Africa and Literature" festival within the framework "Night of Museums - 2018" in Moscow. Irina Tatarovskaya - Senior Researcher of Centre for History and Cultural Anthropology of the Institute for African Studies of the Russian Academy of Sciences participated in this festival and made a lecture "Griots - wandering singers of West Africa". Poets, writers, scientists, journalists, actors and musicians, who love Africa, also participated in the festival "Africa and Literature". This cultural event aroused great interest among the public. At the festival there were a lot of young people who took an active part. Guests shown interest in African culture and asked numerous questions to the lecturers, some of them tested their abilities in contest of translating African poems.
