On November 26, 2021, a public lecture by the Senior Research Fellow of the Center for History and Cultural Anthropology Nadezhda Khokholkova "The Legacy of Julius Nyerere in the context of Pan-Africanism and Afrocentrism" was held at the Russian House in Dar es Salaam (Tanzania).
The presentation focused on the significance and dimensions of the legacy phenomenon, postcolonial discourse, and the intellectual contribution of Mwalimu (Teacher) Nyerere to the development of modern socio-political trends and the transformations of his ideas within the frameworks of Pan-Africanism and Afrocentrism.
The event was timed to coincide with the 60th anniversary of the declaration of independence of Tanganyika.
