July 2-6, 2019 13th Congress of Anthropologists and Ethnologists of Russia was held in Kazan. The central theme of the Congress was "Systems of kinship, connections, and communications in the history of mankind: the anthropological aspect". More than 800 researchers attended the Congress, Research Fellow of the Center of History and Cultural Anthropology of the Russian Academy of Sciences Dr. Nadezhda E. Khokholkova was one of them. The issues of the development of anthropological and ethnological research, problems of interethnic and interconfessional relations, migration, diasporas, ethnic minorities, national policy of the Russian Federation were discussed during panel and roundtable conversations.
July 3, 2019, Dr. Nadezhda E. Khokholkova gave a paper titled «“Africa’s Generation”: Representations of Identity in Virtual Space» within the framework of the panel “Virtual Ethnicity and Cyber-ethnography.”
