On June 25-26, 2020 the Laboratory of Oriental and African Studies of the Department of World History of P.G. Demidov Yaroslavl State University in cooperation with the Center for History and Cultural Anthropology of the Institute for African Studies (RAS) held the Online Conference titled “Africa: Postcolonial Discourse”, dedicated to the 60th anniversary of the liberation of the continent from colonial dependence.
Fourty-three researchers from Moscow, Saint-Petersburg, Yaroslavl, Vologda, Ekaterinburg, Ryazan, and Khabarovsk attended the conference. The participants discussed theoretical and practical aspects of the colonial and postcolonial history of Africa and the African diaspora, issues of economics, politics, international relations, culture, education, historical memory, mass media, digitalization, etc. 10 members of the Centre for History and Cultural Anthropology made presentations: Senior Research Fellow, Dr. Anastasia A.
